Resting from the pencil a bit while starting this beauty.
First time doing one of these, and already thinking about how to add a bit of sci-fi salt and spice to it.
Swap out the sails with a hot air balloon (made from papier-mâché formed around a real balloon)? Maybe add a pair of outboard air propellers as well (little pinwheels)?
Alternately, maybe cover parts of the deck with elongated domes (half a plastic soda bottle) so it can go fully submersible? Add a large horizontal component to the rudder (chopped-up popsicle stick) to assist with porpoising?
Replace the sail it (presumably) comes with and use a neon-transparent "solar sail" fabric instead. Can probably find something suitable at a craft place.

Yeah, it have sails, and I wondering about using them or not, cause they are a bit too stiff for the scale.
On the other side, I really like sails.
