@joehill it was supposed to be forgiven after 3 years of Teaching special education. I taught for 6 years and the loan was never paid by the government. I had to fill out a form every year and never received anything toward the balance. Jeb Bush was Governor then Red tide Rick Scott. It happened to everyone who got Federal loans and taught a critical shortage area in FL. So I paid what I could all these years and the balance was more than I borrowed due to interest.
