What does "grimdark" mean to you? I've seen discussions of the term around, and seen it applied to everything from Warhammer 40k to Game of Thrones to Arthurian legend. I doubt the term's usefulness at this point, but what do you all make of it? #fantasy#scifi#grimdark
@auguryignored Mostly I take it as a synonym for "childish." ☺️ I think the Dark Souls version is probably the current poster-child. Warhammer is tricky because Warhammer is, on many levels, aware that it's funny. I think to be grimdark you must be (a) giggle-inducingly infantile but (b) absolutely convinced that you're dead effing serious, tragic, etc.
