There’s a space in the “this was once used in a tournament” section of Dwellers in the Forbidden City where the PCs have been fighting Bugbear guards in a disused city entrance and it all makes sense - the bugbears have bags or raw meat to bribe the crocs that bedevil the canoe passage, etc - and then there’s an unopenable without this one magic key doorway
