@mattblaze I didn’t even have mixed feelings about Le Corbusier—his Carpenter Center at Harvard is a Brutalist abomination—until I visited Chapelle Notre-Dame du Haut (Ronchamp, France) in 2016. Situated on a hilltop overlooking the French countryside, the chapel has both a graceful exterior appearance and an impressively conceived set of small, interconnected interior spaces. For me, it’s one of the very few modern churches (alongside Sagrada Familia) that provoke a deeply religious reaction.
