Just did my weekly "I am not your audience" clearout of people that either unfollowed me or never mutually followed me so we can efficiently converse.
There seems to be a bad behavior cycle of following folks just for the sake of getting followed back, just so you can unfollow to seem "popular".🤦♂️
I hate this behavior. If you aren't following me, I'll most likely not follow you or unfollow you at some point because my goal here is to have conversations. If we don't see each other's posts regularly to be able to engage in such conversation, then what's the point?
From my perspective, I follow to get a better impression and feeling for each other. Listen to people. If it doesn´t feel well for me, ways split. But it doesn't have to be forever. Some, or better, most times it just too much I/O for me.
I find it difficult to understand how people follow >1000 accounts. Imho 200 is a lot. But I can understand that we are all different and deal with the topic differently & accept that others handle it differently.
I admire people who can organize themselves so well, because I'm more of a living data chaos myself. I've tried lists and stuff but it feels too bureaucratic to me, as if I´m doing work. :D
@MOULE facts. It's been happening for awhile tbh and usually when I call it out, number go down more! To which I cackle to myself like some kinda evil villain.😅
@laxla maybe, but I think the "approval" thing is not really my cup of tea.
I don't want to have to approve of everyone. I do like to be able to see who follows me and potentially follow back if our interests align, which is what I always do if their bio clearly outlines such interests.🤷♂️
