Gonna be quite honest. I'm VERY annoyed right now that I bought a new tablet and I can't use Megalodon or Moshidon because they don't see my instance as a "mastodon instance" even though it most definitely is....😑😳
If anyone has any ideas if theres a way to fix this on my end, please let me know. Cause this is quite depressing...I bought this tablet so I'd have something bigger for Fedi, but there's nothing quite like Megalodon/Moshidon....🤦♂️
Edit: It was a "me" issue. I changed values in my instances settings I should not have changed and it caused this error. I have reverted the values to something normal and I was able to login.
@BeAware a quick google tells me: it's not easy! 🎉 Lmao but apparently the media_attachment.rb has what you are looking for 🤔 then service restarts. Good luck! Very annoying issue to have for sure
@BeAware I've been guilty of the same thing. MySQL error? Fuck it add zeros to every limit I see in the config.... As a random recent example 😂 it's somewhat part of my "destructive debugging" process. The next step involves deleting large portions of code or files to see if I get a new error. Same error means I'm looking in the wrong place. New error means I'm getting closer 💪 hahaha
@ThaMunsta lmao. I do it sometimes, but usually not on things that are broadcasting to the web like this but I didn't think it'd throw so big of an error🤣
@BeAware Some folks on my server were having this problem earlier but it seems to have resolved on its own -- all I did was check mastodon.social to make sure my server was federating properly and before I could check anything else they were in. I'm using MastoHost for hosting if that helps, but it seems to be intermittent/temporary.
@BeAware I didn't get the full error message from them but it did start with that "retro.pizza does not appear to be a valid Mastodon server." and it was today.
