18 May 1938 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Clara Sophie Bloch, was born in Amsterdam.

She arrived at Auschwitz on 22 July 1942 in a transport of 931 Jews deported from Westerbork. She was among 155 people murdered in a gas chamber after selection.

@auschwitzmuseum and yet the Likud-Israeli Nationalist Party led coalition government has forgotten the lessons learned here. Or they learned the wrong lesson. Treating people as second class citizens, seizing their property, forcing them to live in ghettos, the indiscriminate targeting of civilians, and a general attitude that the "other" is the enemy or vermin.

"Never Again" doesn't just apply to the Ashkenazi, it applies to everyone, everywhere.

About Carla Bloch and her family:

Father Leo Bloch was a lawyer at the palace of justice in Amsterdam, His name is on a plaque. He was killed by Med. experiments, August 20, 1942. His death was diagnosed by Dr.Meyer. He is said to have died of tuberculosis and intestinal inflammation. In reality, he would have received a lethal phenol injection.

Carla's mother, Sophie Johanna Rachel Bloch nee Ricardo, who was called Fiet, wrote this card and threw it off the train. She was on her way to Auschwitz with her family. The card arrived at her parents at Hondecoeterstraat 4 in Amsterdam. text in Dutch: "Westerbork, geregistreerd, koffie. Gaan nu weer naar trein terug Behandeling tot nu toe behoorlijk. We hebben allemaal nog wat geslapen in de trein. Kinderen lief, bagage loodzwaar. Alles best, kinderen vinden alles enig, zoenen Fiet" In English: "Westerbork, registered, coffee. We'll go back to train now. Treatment decent until now. We all slept a little in the train. Children sweet, luggage very heavy. Everything ok, children like it all. Kisses Fiet."
