Before all of these #MAGA attacks on #TaylorSwift, all I knew about her was that she was a rather successful pop singer. Because of this "holy war" against her, I have done some, admittedly shallow, research on her, and I am actually currently listening to her "Taylor's Version" album.
Republicans are trying to build a narrative that democracy impoverished everyone.
Republicans are trying to build a world where women never get their fair share of the economy, or have their work rewarded financially. They want a permanent underpaid subclass. Barefoot, pregnant, & back in the kitchen.
It's why they freak out over examples that undermine their malign narratives.
Like female billionaires like Taylor Swift...or VP's buying high-end cookware.
@rbreich Nixon was paranoid of Elvis and The Beatles (among a long list of other people) for the same reasons. Even postmortem, Elvis and The Beatles are more popular than Nixon. Taylor has no worries.
