This is why lawyer people speak in terms of statutes.
In Columbia, you have trespassing and vandalism.
In DC, you had trespassing legally exacerbated by Mike Pence's presence, vandalism, the corrupt interruption of the vote count, assault (including w/deadly weapons), sedition
Bradley Moss:
You can’t denounce the J6 rioters and then say the Columbia students who occupied a building by force and destroyed property should be immune from consequences.
@GottaLaff In addition, you can denounce the disproportionate police response in both cases. If the cops treated the students like they did the Nazis, a couple of cops would show up at the occupied buildings, politely ask the students to leave, and when they didn't, say ok, we really think you should leave, we'll be back tomorrow.
Not to mention "This is the real world," so the goals of the respective rioters and demonstrators should play an important rôle.
@GottaLaff@JustJen it's as if what congress was doing inside the capitol on J6 was completely irrelevant 🤔 … Which, actually, suits alt-right purposes quite well: democracy is annoyingly cumbersome and should be ignored or circumvented. 😨
