After reading the article, this sounds like the absolute worst kind of corruption going on. And I am not even slightly surprised. I really wish someone would would hack into Jeters finances and and see how much he is making off of his horrendous and ridiculous stance.

Just like national level Republicans love interfering with blue states when they can...
Probably because all the way back to the civil war, conservatives never wanted states rights, they wanted the federal government to force states they disagreed with to do what conservative states told them.
