I mean, "opposite" implies some kind of continuum that they're both placed on. "Up" is the opposite of "down," it's not up vs. banana.
In this case, I'm comfortable saying that on the "bullshit politics I learned from the internet that sound clever but are in practice an instant disaster to anyone living through them" continuum, tankies and ancaps are like sugar and spice.
Edit: Oh no what have I done... I adjusted the analogy to a gender neutral one
"Boy" is only the opposite of "girl" if you're working within the framework of gender binary. One could equally argue that "non-binary" is the opposite of both "boy" and "girl."
Similarly, "Right Libertarian/AnCap" and "Tankie" are opposite ways to justify authoritarianism and atrocities (dictatorship of the "market" vs dictatorship of the proletariat). "Anarchist/Left Libertarian" is the opposite of both because both assert that non-consentual hierarchies are normal and excuse the atrocities that come with them while anarchism rejects the validity of non-consentual hierarchy.
Oh no... okay that's on me. I adjusted the analogy to one that's independent of gender issues.
But actually, I do agree with your analogy as applied to boy/girl, and the whole rest of what you're saying here. It's more or less what I was saying actually, I think -- tankies and ancaps have quite a lot in common with one another and the answer lies somewhere else entirely.
If you believe in your mission, it becomes imperative to form arguments that help people change their minds, rather than long winded opinions that cement yourself as an intellectual while alienating your audience.
I agree. It is a struggle to communicate on social media without seeming aloof. It also doesn’t help that people are generally defensive and combative. How do you engage in meaningful conversations without coming off as condescending? It’s a process with a steep learning curve.
every time people post how much better they are then the rest of us because they are hyper intelectual and like to read philosphy I think about a sad lonely person that no one wants to have around.
Being "intelectual" is like a religion, if you start braging about it and making it your personality people will just leave. Keep it to yourself or to the people in your "Church' (pro-intelectualism?)
First. Stop thinking someone is better than you because they know more about a certain topic. You definitely know more than them about another subject.
Second. We are all fools. When you understand this. You become an intellectual. Anyone can do it.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.
What a conundrum. You have ascribed qualities to me that I haven’t expressed. And then denounced those qualities to fit your narrative. If you posted a meme that counters my political ideology, would that make you better than me?
Maybe politics isn’t about individual egos, and is about the collective ideas expressed.
Our wretched species is so made that those who walk on the well-trodden path always throw stones at those who are showing a new road.

Edit: I just had sexual congress , so not sad, not lonely. Maybe reading philosophy and history works after all.
Capitalists: umm yes see north korea is bad so communism is bad.
Communists: umm yes see south korea is bad capitalism is bad.
Both true statements but as most things being an extremist is bad and both examples are technically correct. Just find the best combination of both.
I'd argue NK's issues with housing, suicide and depression are at least as bad if not worse. I guess you could argue that work camps and conscription fix the housing issue if you're kinda sick...
There's no utopia. I'd pick SK over NK any day of the week and twice on sunday lol. Live on the planet that's actually here and you'd feel the same too.
Yeah but human nature so unelected rich people should control everything and slowly enslave me more and more. This is the best possible system because of my vague abstract idea of human nature.
