original_reader , in Finally back down to 14 tabs, still too embarrassed to show anyone

Many tabs would be less of a problem in Firefox if the tab handling was better.

I use Firefox on principle, but tbh, Chrome's and esp. Vivaldi's tab handling are miles ahead.

Artopal ,

TabStash is the name of the extension that solved my tabs problems. Now I have hundreds of tabs "open", but they are neatly organized (stashed).

That's a lot. I sometimes get naughty and open 6

got really crazy and had like ten open yesterday 😬

I usually finish before I get to the end of the tabs, then I get sad because I probably won’t ever revisit those tabs. Maybe they would have been “the one?” Forever lost.

@user224@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

That's not too many.

Before it broke, I had 58 tabs open on my phone, currently I have only 19. Although on desktop I generally don't cross 10.
But my aunt surpassed everything.
Her Chrome (Android) doesn't even show a number anymore. It's just ":D" - https://i.imgur.com/R2QfIFQ.jpeg

Chewy7324 ,

On Firefox Android after ~100 tabs the amount is replaced with ∞.

burrito ,

On mine it is permanently ∞.

No horizontal tabs makes it useless for tablets and larger screens.

I'm aware there are some more private options, but I feel like ff is enough and is important to keep user numbers up, because once Firefox goes the forks go too.

N0x0n , in Why I use Firefox

What's great about native firefox is that you STILL can tinker arround to improve privacy/security and shape it how you want.

Don't know how long it will last though ^^" One day I'm certain I will have to switch and I will really miss my little buddy :(.

Swarfega , in Why does not firefox care more about the android version?

I actually prefer Chrome over Firefox. But fuck Google and fuck Chrome.

I'm happier since leaving Chrome and Google for Firefox and DuckDuckGo. I no longer have to use Incognito to do regular searches to prevent seeing that search as a recommendation in feeds and videos.

I'm just glad that it exists at all. Google has Chrome tied down on Android because they feel they can.

This is one of the shadiest looking links I've ever seen. No way am I clicking that.

It's just a website. Actually a decent looking one too.

If someone wanted you to click that link with bad intentions, pretty sure they would have a normal domain name. :)

Isn't a low minimum API level a good thing? Doesn't that mean more people can use the app?

Chromium browsers are much worse in my experience. They don't even support extensions

ZWQbpkzl , in Why does not firefox care more about the android version?

Is "generally lacking in features" relative to desktop Firefox or other mobile browsers?

Also idk why you'd want Material UI. Not even chrome uses it AFAIK.

King OP ,

Mobile browsers.

Fake4000 , in Why does not firefox care more about the android version?

Firefox for Android might not be that great in terms of performance, but is a viable option out of the Chrome eco system. Firefox Sync works. The only thing its lacking at the moment is universal support for all existing Firefox plugins.

leanleft ,
@leanleft@lemmy.ml avatar

if performance isnt great, then there are 1000 settings to help you fix it.

The company said cutting off PWAs was part of an effort to comply with the Digital Markets Act, arguing browsers other than its own Safari software would expose users to security and privacy risks that were not permitted under the law.

They are so full of shit, it's unbelievable! Are they really claiming that their own browser is THE ONLY legal browser there is?!

not_amm , in Issues with Firefox Android

I agree with you in certain points, but there are others that are just wrong. Seem like you didn't even check what you wrote. Also, you compare it constantly with Chrome, but then in the comments you talk about other Chromium-based browsers that have even less market share, which is it?

I won't deny that you're right in some points, but please fact check what you just wrote before complaining.
