Just got back frim Paris and it was hit hard by covid era. She has lost a bit of her magic. It was not clean, smokers outside of EVERY building, no one seems to care. Sidewalks in ill-repair. The travel facilities like taxi stands are not prepared for the Olympics. Someone there told me everyone is terrified so many people will be coming into town.
I love Paris but I wish there were more French people there. Many many immigrants from Africa, Russia and other places. The festival of bread needs to go. Thank goodness for a few stunning galleries and bakeries that made it worthwhile. Hoping my lungs recover from the second hand smoke soon. Not sure I will be going back for awhile. Sorry to be so negative.
