In a way, you’d be right. Anything can be bought in America with enough ad dollars. To be honest though they probably didn’t think the FTC had the balls to try it, so we’ve probably not seen the ad-dollar minsinformation macchine spin up quite yet.
I've since bought an EV (not a tesla) so the joke is on them. I now laugh at the oil companies every time they raise prices trying to squeeze money out of people.
It's not a perfect solution (I'm still trying to bike to places not far from me), but it's progress and it's freeing not having to stress about gas prices anymore! Volvo Recharge ftw!
Not really. When we moved off the gold standard we moved to the oil standard. Just like oil we control the supply of currency. By controlling both they control oil prices, which in turn determines the price of everything else - food, automotive glass, electronics… all created by and transported by oil.
No the joke is still on us. The price of oil feeds into so many things we buy. A hike in the price of oil affects basically everything, not just personal transport.
The only surprise is that they were finally caught. Industry wide inflation of gas prices always “coincides” with Democrats in office. It propels the false narrative that the President sets prices at the pumps. Big oil obviously prefers a Republican in office, repealing those pesky regulations.
This “green bubble” shit is so fucking weird. Jesus, just grow up and use proper messaging services instead of SMS. And retire those fax machines while you’re at it.
