80s kid, father of two children (one human, one dog), ADHD. Fan of retro tech, history, fiction, literature, movies, nature, hiking, board and video games. Sometimes I post pictures.

I once saw a picture of a cat mid-sneeze that made me laugh so long my sides hurt for a day. My pfp was originally posted by u/AnthonyFantasie on r/scrungycats.

@stina_marie @horrorbooks @horror @bookstodon YES. House of Leaves is one of the very few books that genuinely scared me. I first read my then friend's/now spouse's copy filled with stickies and notes in the margins as she researched every footnote. I was inspired to buy a fresh copy and reread it after playing the remarkable mod myhouse.wad. Won't go into how it's connected for spoilery reasons, but it was a wild ride. I recommend that fans of HoL should play it or read about it.

@stina_marie @horrorbooks @horror @bookstodon Oh, you just reminded me of when I first read that passage. I thought I was going crazy because it was soooo familiar but I knew I hadn't read the book before. I think it was a couple of days before I remembered it was from Hey Pretty.

Happy and let's welcome the latest "monster" to the family! (Also, go watch Godzilla Minus One in Netflix. It's super fun.)

@stina_marie @horrorfilm @horror Minus One was my favorite movie of 2023, though I am a lifelong Big G fan. I watched both the original release and Minus Color in theaters. I love me some goofy comic books style Godzilla action like Legendary is serving up, but Minus One is a true return to form with a genuinely scary incarnation of Godzilla. Very excited to watch it again soon.

@stina_marie @horrorfilm @horror As do I, but it was very refreshing to see interesting human drama in a movie. Usually the people are the most boring part!

@stina_marie @horror This is hilarious 😂 I'd love it for a specific podcast that offers an "experience." Personally, I would give the #McElroy boys a pass.

@stina_marie @horror I don't recommend getting into from episode 1. The boys still had a lot of growing up to do and their earliest stuff leaned into 2010s "edgy" humor. On the other hand, it's been really cool to see how they've matured and become better allies while remaining funny. If the absurdity of MBMBaM isn't for you, I think with Sydnee and Justin is an excellent, funny, and educational show.

Finally back into the woods, I don’t have a natural reserve right next door here in pvd, so it took a more concerted effort until I get my bike fitness back (not gonna ride 50 miles on my first outing 🤪).

Absolutely love my camera, this was so fun, so much to discover for making pictures.

Reflection of a tree and telephone pole in a rain puddle with white flower petals making it look like a star sky.
A detailed black and white picture of tree trunks and leaves in a north eastern forest.
Foliose lichen in color and close up, detailed and slightly vibrant yellow and brown hues.

@mnl Thanks for sharing. I stumbled across your toots from the tag looking for inspiration to get back into my own gear. I enjoy reading about people's creative journeys. Great shots, too. I especially like the b&w shot of the barren trees against the overcast sky.
