@jerry Someone (@SwiftOnSecurity) juxtaposed inspirational infosec quotes on Taylor Swift photos. I truly thought Taylor Swift said those quotes back then and was like "wow, she's really cyber smart."

FBI: Scammers Defraud Individuals via Work-From-Home Scams
The FBI is warning of scammers offering victims fake work-from-home jobs, typically involving a relatively simple task, such as rating restaurants or "optimizing" a service by repeatedly clicking a button. The scammers pose as a legitimate business, such as a staffing or recruiting agency,and may contact victims via an unsolicited call or message.

"Scammers direct victims to a fake interface, which shows victims are earning money, though none of it is available to them to cash out."

What's it mean when I have a follow request here? My account is public so I feel like it might be something to do with the respective servers and how they interact?

screaminggoat ,
@screaminggoat@infosec.exchange avatar

@howelloneill Sometimes a profile (or Mastodon instance) had been flagged by an admin (@jerry might confirm) and any follows they send out are automatically set as pending the requested user's approval.
