I live in a country that is on the surface quite ateist and nobody is openly religious, not even Muslim immigrants.

So i really got nothing.

Well that's what Russians do. They play the long game even if the world changes.

Republical party was their no.1 political enemy in the world during the cold war. Inside half a century Russians have made them their bitch through corruption and shitload of "pee tapes".

This is what Putin masturbates to.

For my neutered cats. Definitely

They get wet food 3x day and eat like pigs. I need to use those bows for greery cats to get them to eat slower. Otherwise they vomit.

When they were young adults they used to have dry food bowl always available, but they quickly became too fat and they were constantly demanding that somebody open the kitchen tap for them.

Then I gave them limited amount of dry food at mornings and evenings and wet food when I came from work.

At middle age they started having urinary problems and bladder stones. After one of them needed a quite expensive "bladder rinsing", I gave up dry food completely. One cat remains on special urinary diet. Non of them need the kichen tap anymore.

Just switch Guantanamo with Siberia and you get Russias original plan on Ukraine.

On a strike. Early weekend is nice, but loosing money is not.

random_character_a ,
@random_character_a@lemmy.world avatar

I'm part of the management, so participation is voluntary. My union is not on strike, but is willing to support financially if one feels a need to participate.

Strike is political, so there is no specific group that would gain something.

Our current right wing gouvenment is on the leach of big corporations and is planning to severely neuter the union rights to strike. It's gonna be a long spring.

This is a real danger in a long term. If advancement of AI and robotics reaches a certain level, it can detach big portion of lower and middle classes from the societys flow of wealth and disrupt structures that have existed since the early industrial revolution. Educated common man stops being an asset. Whole world becomes a banana republic where only Industry and government are needed and there is unpassable gap between common people and the uncaring elite.

Rich will have weapons and technology. I see 1984 + hunger games scenario more likely.

My employer sells "stocks" to employees that don't show anywhere and you can only sell them back to the company after two year. Exchange also isn't immediate. Company chooses the date.

They really want people to buy those things and are heavily campaigning for it.

They also give a small amount of these stocks as bonuses to people that have performed well.

When I say to people that buying those "stocks" just gives the company free loan, they look at me weird.

No, it's an inhumane anti-personnel mine.

Should not be confused with another gruesome anti-personel weapon IHPMS.

    I'd like to know too.

My childhood friend ditched his family and swapped for a younger woman from work about a decade ago. Marriage was not the happiest, but I think he jumped the gun. Now the younger woman ditched him and he's alone. His now teenage child is keeping touch, but is not happy about their history.

Guy is miserable and I'm afraid suicide is an option.

Can't get him to take a new hobby, interest or activity. He's been drowning himself in work and I don't think it's helping.

"Belarus" isn't really a problem. Lukashenko is the problem. They already tried their best to get rid of the little turd, but Russian forces rolled on the streets.

If we don't alienate people of Belarus and Russia becomes weak enough, maybe they'll take our the garbage and stop renting their bumhole to Russia.

Iran is really busy starting shit up. Making west put up their guard and decreasing arms export to Ukraine. Pretty sure Putin is just around the corner pulling strings.

Slight male navigational advantage likely due to cultural differences, researchers find ( phys.org )

A team of psychologists, social scientists, philosophers and evolutionary researchers affiliated with multiple institutions in the U.S. has found evidence suggesting that the slight advantage males have in navigation ability is likely due to differences in the ways male and female children are raised....

There was a study some time ago that determined that it is more common for men to build mental 3D maps of their surroundings. Women navigate more commonly like bees by landmarks, direction and distances.

Mental 3D maps are better, but excessive. Affinity for men to do this is probably due to hunting and warfare.

For Russians "Nazi" or "Fascist" just translates to enemy of Russia, without any understanding of political background. Thats why in Russia you can see neo-nazis cheering "down with facism"
