Did you think of testing security updates on a staging environment before going in production with it, if you suspect in can break things?

I think there is no excuse to apply security fixes wich have a CVE number.

If you are on Debian stable unattended updates are not a problem.

This sounds so horrible, I would consider finding a better employer. I hope, you are not stuck with them.

I am telling my partner about almost all funny memes at Lemmy while they are reading a book. It is frustrating at times, when there are too many good memes.

This website consists only of ads, why bother sharing it?

On the desktop I am safe from most ads, but on mobile some pages are more pain than others.

I wish Mlem would just open it in the DuckDuckGo browser, there some content can be seen, but it is very busy blocking it all.

But, it still stands, it is just too much, this page is just completely broken!

The current v0.1.0-beta looks very good. I only wish it came with a bar itself instead of relying on external programs like swaybar, or at least a working preconfiguration for swaybar that fits to most of the gnome-apps regarding the look and feel.

I used PaperWM a lot, but then it broke too often with every Gnome release. I havn't looked into the latest PaperWM. This Niri looks more promising and seems to have the basics sorted out. I have to give it a try despite the additional time needed to configure swaybar.

What is a distro with updates of Arch but dependencies of Fedora?

I am currently using EndeavourOS, but am annoyed by the constant daily updates of 1GB and pacman not installing important dependencies automatically (ex: spell checker for document editor). I like the way Fedora works: you update whenever, important dependencies are downloaded automatically, and packages are recent-ish, but I...

Why is it not dangerous to update only once a week or month on Arch?

That does not explain the dangerous part.

I would argue, that on Arch I can get a fancy update with a bug even if I only update every week, and I may have to live with it longer if I stick to weekly updates.

With this logic, it is always dangerous to update Arch, if you don't look what is coming in. I know, that Arch is not that unstable it used to be. But people seem to warn about Arch updates, still. I wonder how the situation really is. I will never know for my self, because I will not install Arch again, anytime soon.

And I don't agree that updating a rolling distro daily is per se dangerous. You can do that with Gentoo if you don't unmask unstable (~arch) keywords and follow the news provided with eselect. I can even mask stable updates if I am not ready to deal with them yet.
