Listen. I don't think cats would be good leaders exactly. (Consider my cat, Pica... she is mad with power and only rules a small south Bronx apartment)

But the bar can be very low, so we can consider if this is perhaps an improvement?

@futurebird Larry's been there for 17 years now - he's seen so many PM's come & go he's used to it

If you see a new youTube channel with a plain sounding name like "NatureView" or "BrightScience" etc. and there is what looks like a tempting video on a specific education topic "Most Active Volcanoes" or "Incredible Carnivorous Plants"

There is a 50/50 chance it will be a generated voice with stock footage and a script written by GPT.

I am now avoiding videos if I don't recognize the creator, or don't see signs it was made by a person.

So much spam!

@futurebird I'm the same, seeing so many new channels, sometimes hiding out the channels I do know & watch.

@futurebird also with the speech.

For example 1969 would be read out as nineteen sixty nine by a human but all the ai generated stuff says it as one nine six nine

Could a transit agency create custom methods for sharing data about delays, and route changes while running their own fediverse server? Could this be integrated with existing transit protocols?

I've wanted to see a universal format for sharing "trips" (a transit route at a specified time with start and destination data.)

Riders could share trips to coordinate plans, trips could contain real-time data from the agency...

@futurebird I have thought about this as I do receive live feeds for the UK rail network, but couldn't figure out how best to do this without overloading the fediverse with traffic for making the posts too cryptic.

An end of an era?

The Z80 product line, specifically the Z84C00 is being end of life after 48 years of production.

As usual for Zilog, nothing on their website.

This I got from the RMC discord but I did see this earlier today elsewhere
