I'm happy to report that the surgery on my was a success. New power supply has brought it back to life. Took about 45 minutes start to finish.

What do you think happened to the old power supply? Just failed one day?

My Xbox Series X suddenly died tonight. In the middle of playing a game and it abruptly powered off. Won't power back on. No sign of life at all. Ugh.

Hope the path to getting an operational system is short.

Out of curiosity, what orientation did you keep the system? Both horizontal and vertical orientation are supported.

I think vertical has better airflow but more dust getting in from the vents. Horizontal orientation has less optimal airflow, but has less dust staying in the system.
