If Just Stop Oil spent their time building solar farms, they would literally be stopping the oil.

Instead, they prefer vandalizing cultural sites for media attention.

I do not respect their movement.

@randahl even if their stunts don't harm whatever they are using for publicity:

  1. They make it super easy for their opponents to misportray their actions as harmful
  2. They risk pushing people away because fundamentally their actions seem at best unproductive

I hear absolutely noone talk about these events in a positive manner, not even people I know are working for change.

I just don't get it.

Where I live, there is just one garbage truck, which picks up all the garbage from all houses in a large neighborhood. It is both cheap and efficient.

Yet for some reason, 8 different delivery companies drive the same streets to bring out parcels, and at least 10 different companies deliver food.

Something tells me, we have not found the optimal way to do this yet.
