When I left Twitter almost 2 yrs ago, I lost a following of 11K who provided revenue streams (coaching, books, speaking). My almost 3K here hasn’t served the same function, & there tends to be an anti-monetization ethos on the Fedi. I get it, but big brands & corp extraction capitalism ≠ single shingle folx like me.

I could live comfortably w/10 clients. All of this is to say, if you appreciate my voice on this platform, pls consider hiring me or buying me a cuppa. TY

The Kansas Republican Party hosted a fundraiser last Friday

During which, attendees could pay to assault an effigy of President Biden

Remember when simply criticizing Trump or Bush policies would trigger the right—causing them to scream “it’s unamerican to disrespect the president!”

These are deplorables

Large republicans kicking a punching dummy dressed up like the sitting president of the United States. One of the most bland “come together” moderates and they’re this triggered.

    I could only hack it for about 4 seconds. The emphatic (dare I say pregnant) dramatic pause; the submissive whisper vocal fry; the Hobby Lobby earnestness…shudder. Can't do it. I couldn't keep watching. Because these social media influencer republican "empowered" women are Stepfordian mouthpieces for their husbands. It's excruciating watching this.

    @flexghost the thing is (especially on IWD), if your ideal version of womanhood is as helpmeet and incubator, good for you. Where I have difficulties is when said Live Laugh Love Christo-Fascist ideology is foisted upon an electorate that specifically cites in its governing documents that a line between church and state is to be established/maintained. Keep your religion out of my life.

    @WarnerCrocker I dated a CFO in 2014 who mentioned this during a trip we took to Portland, OR. He mentioned it in relation to the long lines at Voo Doo Donuts.

    The concept is probably one that looks great on a spreadsheet, but I’m not sure how it would work in practice. Of course, I’m not an economist. My area of expertise is people.

    @tzimmer_history they’re just as narcissistic as the criminal rapist they’ve put forth as a presidential candidate. They’re no different than the husband who murders his family in a hail of bullets before turning the gun on himself. If he can’t have his way/his idealized worldview, no one can. And you can’t reason with anyone with this mindset. They only respond to brute force. They will bend the knee if they’re broken.
