Exceedingly cool results.
Somehow, wherever this small bat thrives, its presence also creates a niche for a bigger bat, which evolves from... the small bat. You get a string of islands with the simultaneous presence of the small bat and the big bat that re-evolves from it every time....

The phenomenon is so weird that people thought it was just 2 different species that colonized the islands in parallel. It's just one species with a recurring sub-branch.

You know how December is all about mince pies, and the run-up to Easter is all about hot cross buns?

There should be a special baked treat for every month in the year. Why isn't there? Why am I not enjoying a delicious April Cake or Spring Bun or whatever?

@RolloTreadway just say you want to Japan, where each microseason has its own marketing team... April is for sakura mochi and sakura beer

Any tips for dealing with hayfever in Japan? The over-the-counter claritin does... zero. I was hoping it might pass in a week or so, but I remain a goopy mess.

I could... visit the doctor... but that seems like a lot of hassle compared to just asking everyone on mastodon 😉

(Japan medicine tends to be different brands, and often weaker, than the overseas counterpart. I know what I could get in the UK or US, but unsure if there's anything reasonably effective in Japan.)

@elizabethtasker Interesting. I was prescribed ストナリニS more than a decade ago and I never even considered looking for something else lol
I am unhappy with how dry it makes my nose though. Let me know if you still like this one in a few days, I could give it a try!

Anyone in Japan who would be eager to share advice about moving to Japan with a cat? Can I put you in contact with the person needing advice? I can give them tips about the city they're going to live in, but I don't have cat expertise. All I know is it's even harder to rent than with a dog.
