I found this truck parked on the street in my neighborhood. Notice that the life-threatening bumper is actually labeled ROAD ARMOR.

I thought I’d be irritated having to pay 1~2 euros for the public toilets in Paris. But the fact you can tap your card (no change needed) and the bathrooms are clean, with toilet paper, soap, hand towels & attendants actually makes it pretty great. As someone who periodically has stomach issues, it’s also anxiety reducing (there are places you would not want to be stuck for a prolonged period…!).

Although I say this from the privilege of not having to worry about spending several euros.

@elizabethtasker @rieder Comparing the state of the departure lounge toilets at Seoul Incheon vs. Paris Charles-de-Gaulle this weekend was quite depressing. One had shiny auto-bidet toilets with bathroom floors that looked clean enough to eat off; the other smelt strongly of stale urine and had a broken toilet seat in one of the few stalls that wasn't "out of order".

Four years after the box arrived in my office, I have done the unthinkable.

I plugged in my work phone.

A deeply unfortunate series of events has seen me in charge of an event on Friday for which an emergency contact number is indeed required.

Colleague: Did you leave it in the box because you thought the phone would not work? 🤔

Me: It was because I thought it would 😐
