Trump has changed what it means to be evangelical
https://wapo.st/4c2GhIU (gift link)
"The idea of evangelicals who don’t go to church was once unusual. Now, it is surprisingly common. In 2008, only 16 percent of evangelicals said they never or seldom attended church. By 2020, 27 percent did.
Evangelicalism, in short, has become about shared political convictions. In one survey of Christian attitudes ... 43 percent of evangelicals said they did not believe in the divinity of Christ." 1/2

Why Does the NYPD Hate This Bike Chain
https://www.404media.co/email/1cc25606-201a-4f10-87ce-aeefa8285c3f/?ref=daily-stories-newsletter

'“This is not what students bring to school,” Sheppard said, holding the chain to the camera. “These are heavy industrial chains that were locked with bike locks, and this is what we encountered on every door inside of Hamilton Hall.”

'But this is exactly what students bring to school, and it’s a bike lock chain that’s recommended to them through the Columbia University website.'

@wdlindsy Oh, interesting! Thank you. I didn't get that pop-up so I checked archive.is and was glad it was there.

@jmccyoung The pop-up seems to appear for me every time I click on an article at their site, but it doesn't always allow me to read the article. I think all depends on how many I have read for free already in a given period of time. I had not known about the archive.is site and am very glad to know about it.
