I disagree.

Our gov't and military has been in non stop wars since our founding.

With small spands, some say 17yrs, of peace here and there, but ghost wars and militias we fund are also a thing to take note of.

Our country has between 700 and 1000+ military bases outside of the US, not to mention it is used to aggravate two superpowers, Russia and China.

Thank you for taking the time to explain which are the ones that recognize a Palestinian statehood and which do not, currently.

Article by Al Jaazeera: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/5/22/mapping-which-countries-recognise-palestine-in-2024

In September 2011, President Barack Obama declared U.S. opposition to the bid in his speech to the General Assembly, saying that "genuine peace can only be realized between Israelis and Palestinians themselves" and that "[u]ltimately, it is Israelis and Palestinians – not us – who must reach an agreement on the issues that divide them".[329] Obama told Abbas that the United States would veto any United Nations Security Council move to recognize Palestinian statehood.[330] Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden have maintained that UNSC veto policy.[331][332]

I do not think your CCP label helps or improves the substance of what you are trying to say.

Feel free to continue to use US/western military and status quo propaganda talking points that are just pushing for more endless wars; where the working class are dying in massive numbers, while the owner class and their ilk avoid drafts and the front lines, due to their wealth.

  1. [16:08] - Introduction and interview with Jaz Brisack and Casey Moore, organizers of Starbucks stores and of Inside Organizer School (IOS)

In this week’s Economic Update, Professor Richard Wolff comments on US megabanks once again taking new off-the-books risks, Elon Musk endorsing right-wing undemocratic census proposals and Fossil Fuel industry executives bribe Trump with campaign donations. In addition, we highlight the many US and global labor unions and workers who have joined the movement in supporting of ending the Israeli military actions in Gaza.

Finally, we Interview with Jaz Brisack and Casey Moore, organizers of Starbucks stores and of Inside Organizer School (IOS), a new organization that trains workers how to unionize their workplaces.

The Inside Organizer School (IOS) is a unique program aimed at making inside organizers as effective as possible in motivating and mobilizing their co- workers. The IOS branches off from traditional union organizer training which addresses staff development, focusing its curriculum instead on developing inside organizers who organize from within the workplace.

NATO started the war games...

That is why many on the 'far left' and 'far right' use this slogan: 'NATO Is A Terrorist Organization'.

The US is the puppet master of NATO, where we keep going into these endless wars, where we keep 'accidentally' starting and continuing for the past couple of decades.

Always money for war, but none to feed the poor.

Careful with the US miliarty and western propaganda, it is understandable though, we are born into only hearing the status quo.

Many great independent journalist and commentators out who talk out foreign policy and geopolitics, so as to learn and read/watch non-status quo information, known status quo talking points, and much more.

Thanks, you reminded me to share a video on the topic!

China responded by launching a simulated blockade of Taiwan. The People’s Liberation Army released images boasting its ability to rain missiles on one of the most densely populated countries in the world as “strong punishment.”

I thought these are done pretty often by China, similarly done by our US military training excerise with our military war ships near the Chinese sea, Japan waters, and South Korea (sea and on land).

Beijing’s standard reaction to the democratic voting rights of 24 million people is to threaten to “break skulls and let blood flow.” For China, Taiwan as a renegade province that must “return to the embrace of the motherland” despite the fact China does not have any authority over Taiwan.

'fact China does not have any authority over Taiwan', this statement is not correct, if you watch and read non-status quo and non-western military propaganda.

While the Chinese government condemns the forced divestment of TikTok, the app — together with Facebook, WhatsApp and Google — are all banned within the great firewall of China.

Our censhorship is not that much better than them, and our gov't continues to censor more, when we take to account what technofeudalism has done to the world; Yanis Varoufakis talks about some of this in great detail.

Known as “grey-zone” tactics, they fall short of the use of force, which is prohibited under international law. Also referred to as “salami slicing,” grey-zone tactics that are not strictly attacks make it hard for others to respond without potentially escalating a situation to a conflict.

I think having between 700 and 1000+ US military bases close to two other superpowers is much more of a threat, NATO.

Closely allying with Russia, and actively supplying weapons to sustain its war in Ukraine, China has not concealed its desire to reshape the world order.

Oh, I wonder which proxy war forced and brought China and Russia to be much more friendly with each other, not to mention BRICS.

The latest war games surrounding Taiwan are just another reminder of the various ways China tries to undermine liberal democracies and international peace and security. Today it may be a simulated attack. But the world must stand together and prevent it ever becoming reality.

Again, NATO and our military bases getting closer to China and Russia, as well as our proxy wars and direct funding of such wars is not helping the situation.

War only helps the owner class, much profits to be made.

The only war we should be in... is the Class War!

jimmydoreisalefty , to News in 'This kind of growth can’t be sustained’: As inflation rises, payday loans are undermining the Russian economy and threatening a new crisis
@jimmydoreisalefty@lemmy.world avatar

I wonder if other working class people in other countries are doing a similar thing or it is just countries in (proxy) wars and direct wars.

Here is a quote of my reply in other community, same article, with quotes highlighting notable information mentioned in article:

Wow, reminds me of the US data on 'Buy Now, Pay Later', it seems pretty similar.

Post: Struggling consumers use buy now, pay later services for everyday necessities — even groceries [@return2ozma | Community: News | Finance Yahoo] https://lemmy.world/post/12244266

My comment where I quote the article and info that I thought should be highlighted: https://lemmy.world/comment/7772790

In 2023, Russians took out a record-breaking one trillion rubles (approximately $11.2 billion) in payday loans — 30% more than in 2022. Some experts predict that this figure could increase again by as much as 25 percent in 2024. By the end of 2023, the number of Russians using “microfinance organizations” (MFOs) had reached 19.9 million, which is 2.7 million more than in the previous year. And as of the end of the first quarter of 2024, about 32 percent of these loans were overdue.

Currently, the average monthly income of Russians applying for payday loans is 50,000 rubles, or about $562, while the average size of these loans is 9,990 rubles ($112). In general, Russians turn to payday loans to purchase food and clothing as well as to pay off older loans, economist Nikolai Kulbak told Holod. Most people who use payday loans in Russia use them more than once: in 2023, about 83.4 percent of payday loan recipients were repeat customers.

Kulbak told Holod he also expects to see a continued rise in the number of payday loans being issued in Russia. “Banks used to give loans even to clients who were already devoting most of their income to paying off existing loans; now they’re increasingly refusing people,” he said, adding that he expects the trend to persist for the next six months since inflation does not seem to be slowing down. “The fewer loans banks approve, the more people turn to MFOs. Ultimately, this leads to an increase in bankruptcies,” said the economist.

In addition to the traditional personal bankruptcy process, Russian law allows certain categories of the population, such as pensioners, to go through a simplified, out-of-court bankruptcy process. More than 12,000 people initiated this process in the first quarter of 2024 — more than five times the number of people who did so in the same period the previous year. The number of judicial bankruptcies rose by 18.2 percent to 89,800 over the same period.
