EDIT: many people have pointed out that the breaker will still trip, and in fact this is actually required by fire code.

@jerry It’s required by the electric code. It’s safe. The breaker lock can easily be taken off if you need to turn off the breaker. It doesn’t affect the breaker tripping.

Source: a family member who was a fire alarm control specialist and worked on panels every day for decades.

Went to a sushi lunch with my mom today, and she had a gift for me. It's a pretty sweet hoodie, and bless her she's trying 🩷

@alice As someone whose parents are boomers, I appreciate when my father tries. Might get a lot wrong, but his heart is in the right place, is legitimately trying, and it’s hard changing after so many decades.
