Facebook is (still) full of fake photographs of "disabled veterans" sitting on the curb that say "Why don't photos like this ever trend?"

But it's not a photo of real people. This strikes me as disrespectful, fraudulent, stolen valor stuff. Never mind the endless whitewashing of the US Military by playing on our valid desire to take care of the people harmed by it.

You can report images as "AI generated" but it doesn't do anything. (I suspect it'd be used to make the images less detectable.)

@futurebird I can stop noticing things that are wrong with this image. I’d be embarrassed as hell to have it purportedly representing me.

(Where are these drivers evacuating to (driving the same way on a two-way road)? Which parallel universe only had 11 colonies that formed the United States?)

Even without the issues, as someone who is generally anti-war and doesn’t celebrate birthdays, this does not elicit any kind of “like” response temptation from me. I worry a lot about how folks are conditioned to respond with positivity to concepts or situations—regardless of political background.

Currently sowing a tiny garden for my field ants. I've kept field ants before and they didn't really thrive. I'm hoping if I can arrange for them to tend a heard of aphids they will be happier.

They colony is about 15 strong, and the queen is lovely shiny and black. They are also very nervous and freak out at every new sound and vibration. Will a box of green plants calm them? We shall see!

HB 2885 is a bill in MO that makes teachers register as class 1 sex offenders if they use the correct pronouns for trans students.

Doesn't matter what the parents want, or what the student wants.

Happily it's perforative nonsense expected to die in committee--

I expect Jordan Peterson will speak out about these rules that can destroy careers for NOT using state-sanctioned pronouns... any moment now, right?

@futurebird Is this all just to wear us down and distract us so something passes? I’m tired with all that’s happening and I think they’re hoping to exploit that. Pure speculation on my part. Or maybe I’m just bad at limiting my scope and instead tend to respond to everything.
