Can pay carer allowance (not means tested, about 75$ week) carer allowance (up to about $500 a week.). Can go halves in rent too, depending on your needs. If you have your own place - even better. Make some extra money from that spare room by helping someone who can really use it.

I have some savings so can begin paying rent/ board right away.

Might be a touchy subject, but are #Germans (and #Austrians I would guess) able to privately support #Palestine or is that not discussed? Would you be shunned for doing so? What is it like in the media, universities, etc?
From what I’m seeing, protests are being dispersed and protestors harshly dealt with, so definitely not encouraged in the public realm.

#Israel / The boycott is already here — and growing; but the current government has no answers

Some recent examples of boycotts and sanctions against Israel:

  1. #Spain, #Norway, and #Ireland recognizing a Palestinian state.

  2. #Turkey imposing an embargo on Israeli exports.

  3. #France canceling Israel's participation in a major defense exhibition.

  4. The #Maldives banning Israeli citizens from entering the country.

  5. A British coffee shop chain, Pret a Manger, canceling its franchise agreement with an Israeli company.

  6. McDonald's facing a boycott in some countries due to its Israeli operations.

  7. The Israeli hi-tech industry, which is a significant contributor to the country's economy, is also being affected by the boycotts.

One of the most disturbing things I heard reported multiple times in #Gaza is that some bodies pulled out of the rubble and mass graves in Gaza had organs missing…

Have previous military campaigns involving Israel and #Palestine been this horrible (other than the original Nakba, and some argue it wasn’t this bad)?

I sometimes think it seems that way because we now have access to live streaming information, but surely this is worse than other wars? They haven’t flattened #Gaza before? Tried #genocide?

I used to largely stay out of it, although a lot didn’t sit right. I bought a lot of the misinformation which meant missing details. They still had a valid victim card, basically.

There seems to be a new arrogance to the Israeli side as though they truly have nothing to fear and nothing to hide no matter how hideous, even if the official line is victimhood. It can’t only be the Iron Dome (however amazing the technology might be) and US support.

There is only one legitimate company in Egypt evacuating Gazans and they make $5000 a person. This is horrendous. Unless you have money you die.

This is essentially a ransom; Hala makes $2mil per day from Gaza. But there is no alternative. (2) $2mil is an obscene amount of money to squeeze out of people facing genocide, and the arithmetic is grim: this sum accounts for only 400 people. There are some 2.3 million people in Gaza. (3) We genuinely have no other choice. No country has established a dedicated humanitarian pathway to refuge for people in Gaza. We are trying to save as many lives as we can, as quickly as we can. There is nothing else we can do.

    Instead of protesting #Eurovision (which is well and good outside the stadium) how about just not turning up to the event instead of booing Israel’s performance? Boo them outside. Boo them in your city. Boo then at home.

    Instead of cheers and boos competing with each other, how about not going to #Eurovision at all? It would be amazing to hear Israel finish their performance to the sound of Israel cheering themselves and the rest of the audience in silence. Or the stadium half empty in the first place. Make it a get together for Zionists.

    Do you normally vote? Don’t vote. The ESC is making money out of you. So are the broadcasters. Make it a financial loss for all of them.

    I really hope the majority #Gazan #Palestinians make it of out this genocide alive. It’s an obvious statement for me but the world is 🤷‍♀️

    I just wonder if in future they will look to friendly Westerners/ random countries that recognise Palestine and people online for help instead of other Arabs and Muslim majority countries because most have let them down.

    They’re probably getting more help from people donating to their GoFundMes and TIk Tok campaigns than “official talks” and “aid”. Yes that’s partly Israeli interference but it’s also partly bullshit.

    (Yes I realise there are Palestinian Christians & Jews in Gaza too but they’re a small minority and nobody is listening to them either. Most are Arab though.)

    The IDF are killing Christians hiding in Churches in West Bank and nobody gives a shit about them either. There’s no Hamas there, so why is there a ‘military operation’ going on there as well? wtf. The only good thing about this is the Christian churches are working together to save each other, at least in Jerusalem. I’m not particularly religious but the unity is nice.

    How is humanity going to come back from this? It’s not as if nobody knows what going on. It’s being live streamed online. It’s the worst stuff I’ve seen in my life and the perpetrators really don’t care.

    One lesson learned is just how much money is invested in Israel. I had no idea it is a gold mine for the West. Another is how much our schools have failed us.
