@parismarx I viewed as partially an acknowledgement that Tesla is WAY overvalued and if Musk leaves they know their holdings are gonna drop fast.

    Incredible that Elon Musk been saying Tesla is on the cusp on mastering self-driving for a decade, it’s still nowhere in sight, and he still tells investors if they don’t “believe Tesla is going to solve autonomy, I think they should not be an investor in the company.”

    @parismarx He isn't wrong. If you don't believe that Tesla is going to develop autonomous vehicles and a robo-taxi fleet where they offload the depreciation on suckers, you'd be a fool to be invested in Tesla.

    @epidiah I'm always trying to figure out why I'd want the opinions of people with enough free time to fill out surveys, I say as a person who receives half a dozen survey requests from other teams at work every week.

    @parismarx It's astonishing the degree to which Musk has completely surrounded himself with Yes Men, and thus is constantly surprised when people do things that aren't strictly in his interest when he's an asshole.

    @epidiah FWIW, Java is a much better language today than it was when I was first learning it in 2001.

    I have some pretty fundamental problems with the way it's allowed to evolve (tying the release schedule of the JRE to that of the JDK is utterly pointless, and the language continues to suffer from bad decisions about the JVM made decades ago), but it is still a significantly better language today than it used to be.
