In one MAJOR way I understand American's concerns about the SC decision

But, in another way, I don't. Biden, and his administration now have 4 months of immunity to ensure MAGA ambitions are NOT fulfilled.

BUT, in another way, I understand the concern, because even the loudest shrillest liberal/centrist Democrat knows deep down inside they won't do that.

And it’s not really surprising once you begin to understand how bourgeois liberal ideology works and who it serves. It’s become very apparent to me that when you have no real basis for your politics or worldview, it just leaves you wide open to opportunism.

If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend R.P. Dutt’s Fascism and Social Revolution. It breaks down very succinctly the ways in which “left” elements assist fascists in their seizure of power.

I haven't read it, looks interesting, but I don't take a lot of time to read these days... my ADHD won't let me 🤣 (no lie)

even the "best" elements can leave openings for "opportunists" (as you say). I don't necessarily fault an ideology or person for that.

A "liberal" however, would be "guiding" people into the showers while thinking to themselves "at least I compromised!"

Liberal citizens in Western democracies who decry the threat or loss of "democracy" are either willfully ignorant or just plain stupid

Democracy is a system where leaders are chosen by free, fair elections <- period

Abortion rights are not a part of "democracy."

LGBTQ rights are not a part of "democracy."

The real fear is losing liberal culture, which, while understandable, is not a guarantee or right under "democracy."

The modern sanctification of "democracy" is nauseating

The way that liberal democrats view the world is just straight up fantasy. Makes it hard to interact with a lot of these folks ever since I’ve noticed how thoroughly indoctrinated people in the west are by liberal democrat/capitalist ideals.
