I think we ought to talk about Lumberjills, by the Mo Turkington of Unruly Designs. She led War Birds project, an award-winning anthology of games about women in World War II.

If you take a look at the project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/unrulydesigns/lumberjills-a-war-birds-game you will see that the kickstarter campaign page is brilliant. (THREAD)

@genesisoflegend When I initially saw the teaser page, I was super hyped for Lumberjills. When I discovered it was a LARP, that enthusiasm went down to almost zero. I am immunocompromised myself, so any in-person games are still not a option, and I simply won't buy a game I can't run online.

I also expected the game to be a lot queerer than it seems to be (there are queer romance options but they seem to be the exception rather than the norm). Otherwise, I'd be 100% all over this!

@genesisoflegend Everything else you mentioned (focus on women's experiences, no combat) plus the historical setting would be a huge benefit in almost any game for me! I just really wish this wasn't a LARP but a TTRPG that can be played online and without touching. 🤷

(Which I think is one more reason TTRPG players hesitate to get into LARPs in general - they're just a rather different way of playing together.)

That said, I still think your analysis is pretty spot-on more generally!
