I work in a hospital. I've seen patients that have had full signs of life, nothing indicating that they might die within the next 12 hours, but guess what? When I came in for my next shift? Boom. Dead. It's the weirdest thing. And alternatively, patients who look like death can cling on to life for months and months and months.

There are certainly are better ways to communicate your pain and stuff to medical professionals, but for the most part the art no code words that will magically get you what you want. Most doctors have protocols that they follow especially in accordance with pain and will not deviate from it no matter what. There are others though that are not satisfied with those protocols and will break them, but most likely he won't find those doctors.

Oh, it's also good idea to have your relevant medical history with you, and a brief, readable format, and also the actual medical records to back that up
