corymbia , to Interesting Global News in More than 400,000 songbirds killed by organised crime in Cyprus

I think this fuckwits got confused by the metaphor of a ‘singing bird’ representing a confessing prisoner.

corymbia , to World News in Internet cables cut in the Red Sea in 'exceptionally rare' incident, disrupting much of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East

I can’t believe they just leave a massive interwebs cable just lying on the fucking beach like that. No wonder it got attacked.

corymbia , to politics in Nikki Haley says she’s no longer bound by RNC pledge to endorse Trump if he wins

I have no illusions that her policies would be much better than Trumps, perhaps without the autocratic tendencies.

I was referring to her talking style. The speech I heard a minute of was completely wooden, patronising, and stilted.

corymbia , to Asklemmy in What is the most lemmy thing about lemmy?

Lemmy.

corymbia , to Politics in 'It was so scary': Trump fans at Missouri Caucus 'literally attacked fellow Republicans'

So… the idea that we’ll potentially lose democracy altogether if they split the Democratic Party vote isn’t really a big deal?

corymbia , to politics in White Rural Trump Supporters Are a Threat to Democracy

Well yeah ok.

corymbia , to politics in Nikki Haley says she’s no longer bound by RNC pledge to endorse Trump if he wins

I heard her speak recently, and it was fucking awful.

corymbia , to Ask Lemmy in What movie or show you didn't know was THAT good until you watched it?

Dora the Explora.

Fucking hell that’s some DEEP shit.

corymbia , to A Boring Dystopia in The children yearn for the mines

Jam factory solves lack of red-coloured blobby ingredients being forced through high-speed machinery by hiring children.

corymbia , to Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics. in Energy efficiency of active travel (walking, cycling, ebike) compared to an electric car

Oh there’s always a genuine, non-sarcastic use for a car.
I’m close enough to work to cycle without blinking, yet scheduling and family pressures / drop-offs/ pick-ups mean that it’s more time-sensible to drive.

I hate it. I used to cycle every day to work.

The other shitty thing in the equation is the public transport which functions at a generous 40% of what it might.

I’d hate to wrap my soggy brain around solving the problem, but I wish someone would; more routes, more frequency, more funding.
= fewer cars.

corymbia , to Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics. in Energy efficiency of active travel (walking, cycling, ebike) compared to an electric car

Yeah but what about if a person is a massive hambeast? Ain’t no cycles going nowhere under that strain.

Or what if they are a massive douchenozzle chud fuckwit?!? It would emasculate them to not have the largest most unnecessary truck possible?!?

corymbia , to politics in Trump confuses Obama for Biden again at Virginia rally speech

Yeah but what about Obama’s TAN SUIT?!?!

corymbia , to politics in Trump confuses Obama for Biden again at Virginia rally speech

“Obama’s”

corymbia , to politics in Trump confuses Obama for Biden again at Virginia rally speech

Am assuming this is completely tongue-in-cheek.

corymbia , to politics in White Rural Trump Supporters Are a Threat to Democracy

I love the theory, but considering that every week we see some headline about some digital fraud or another, I think there is a great reassurance in keeping democracy as analogue as possible
