@Taweret There are no conspiracy theories that people are more willing to accept than theories that beloved children's stories are 'actually' about something sinister and adult.

  • Ring Around the Rosie? The Black Death!
  • Wonderful Wizard of Oz? A fourteen book protest about losing the gold standard.
  • Alice in Wonderland? Deep political commentary!

You could name any children's story more than a generation old, and tell people that it's secretly about politics and everyone will believe you.

@Taweret In fact, it's been long enough that we need to start making up conspiracies about stuff that was new when we were kids.

  • "It doesn't come through in the modern series, but My Little Pony was originally about the Cold War."

Nobody younger than 25 will dare question it.
