Mask bans will not stop crime. Mask bans will not stop protests. What mask bans will do is put people's health at greater risk, and make society less accessible.

Last month the requirement for US hospitals to report key COVID data to the federal government ended.

This is reckless! But there's a rule that would reinstate hospital reporting requirements outside of public health emergencies.

@luckytran Can this link be shared as a plain URL rather than a bit.ly tracking shortener?

Hmmm. It’s like GenZ has spent their formative years living through a historic pandemic that is causing mass death and disability.

With COVID levels so high, many are asking when is a safer time to schedule healthcare appointments, travel etc.

It can be helpful to compare COVID wastewater from previous years. In the US, the winter surge usually recedes in March, and levels are lower in spring and summer.

@luckytran Unfortunately, I don't think there is a pattern to "safety", even according to that chart. From one year to the next, it can vary. One year, levels are low in summer, the next they are high. Another year there is a spring wave, and the year there was a summer wave it went back up in the fall and winter. Nowhere is safe at anytime anymore for an immunocompromised person. Getting healthcare is playing Russian roulette.
