I despise soft power switches on computers. In fact, not only do I want proper "cut the fucking power to this hunk of junk right now" buttons, I want them to be huge Edwardian knife switches like this.

Throw thew huge lever. An almighty clunk happens. The OS vanishes. The display goes dark.

As the computer gods intended.

Old IBM mainframes had a giant round red Emergency Off switch on upper right of the operator’s console.

You had to pull the red disk out to order an emergency shutdown of the entire IBM system, including disks, tape drives…

Once pulled, an IBM SE had to reset the switch using a special tool after fixing anything that broke because of the shutdown 😬
