I've been in doubt for a while... I'm trying to save some money (during a move, which is very challenging and required looking for good deals to get the cheapest but good quality things possible) for an ebike.

I have a bike. It's over 20 years old. It is decent but not good. It needs some repairs that can be expensive. And with the move coming, I'll need a good bike if I wanna save on costs.

I have Skoosh and she'll get me everywhere (Skoosh is my Yaris, her license plate kinda spells out Skoosh, so the people of Mastodon gave her that name and I kept it). But needing a car more means more expenses, especially with the costs of benzine here... So I figured: an ebike would be fabulous!

I'll get some exercise, charging it is cheaper than benzine, and it's better for me and the environment. A win-win. But, a decent enough ebike isn't too cheap... (mind you, I did drool 🤤 over some awesome bikes, but they're waaaaay out of reach!).

So bit by bit, I tried to save some.

I manged to get some money set aside so far. But then... I got an offer with my new fiber subscription for a huge discount on a simple, but nice and decent, TV... My current TV is getting older and is not that big (which can be harder with some more recent games, as they expect you to have at least a 65" TV or something...)... So yeah...

Mum said I should do it and she'd try to help with both TV and bike. The TV isn't now, it's late July. I get my sub, and if I've kept it after the two week trial period, then I get the discount voucher... And... Maybe the one I would like isn't available anymore... As it's a "first come, first served" promotion...

Ah well.... Maybe I'll get a better TV soon for a lovely low price. Maybe I'm too late and I'll be getting the bike a little sooner...

Life and choices can be quite challenging at times for sure!

SniffBook walkies with my royal sweetness 🐾.

She seems to have an upset belly, as she keeps running to bushes to get some relief. And then I wanna run to give my nose some relief too 🤪!

I don't know why her tummy could be upset, she didn't eat anything she normally doesn't get... Or maybe she found something to snack during one of the walks yesterday and I didn't notice? I'll make sure we head out more today and that she always has enough to drink. Will boil some rice later so I can mix some with her next meal.

Brain seems to be behaving at the moment, just the usual silly thoughts and worries. So maybe I will be able to edit some images and/or write for my blog during this walk. 😊 Arwen gets het sniffs, I get my mobile entertainment 😉 of course I have some music on as well...
Still listening to the Roxette mix I made a few days ago. It relaxes me... :rythmicalparrot:

#Journal of a slightly OK Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Thursday, June 20th 2024).

TL;DR very much an usual Thursday. Gym, some nice walkies with my gall, Germany shopping with mum, some relaxing and some exercises... Just as I like them to go... Predicable and steady. 😊

I'd woken twice during the night, the second time about half abmn hour before my alarm. So I just got up. I had some muscle aches in my neck and shoulders, but nothing too bad (although some people may consider this bad already, I have a high threshold, fortunately). I went to the scales and they were OK enough. My sleep score was 93, so good as well. The weather was dry and 13°C, so another thing going well enough. 😊 I got dressed, took meds, prepped Arwen's meat, and we headed outside for walkies. After she had done her things, I fixed the food, put out the snacks, and got my bag to head to the gym.

I chatted with a sweet friend who was making the big move to a new instance. Exciting times for him and I tried to support him as he was going through the motions 😉. I caught up with Masto as well while I enjoyed the protein shake. Then, onwards to the treadmill. Half an hour of walkies with a 5% incline. Then the seated bike, just on low settings. There was a dude that kept being near me. I don't really like him due to his behavior in the past. And I don't know if he did it on purpose or if it was just a coincidence, but it made me uncomfortable. I didn't even take my usual silly selfies... After the bike, I got my massage and then, I changed my shoes and headed home.

A quick wash up, change of clothes and some food was prepared. Then, it was time for walkies with my gall. We had a lovely SniffBook walk. She got all the updates and I played with my phone along the way 😉. When we got back, I got to the PC and worked on my journal blog again. I also uploaded some very old edits I once made and saved to Pixelfed. Then, Arwen "told" me she was ready for the splash walkies... So onwards we went!

She had a great time with more sniffs and some swims. And I was happily Tooting and all during the walk. When we got back, I tried to dry Arwen best I could. I gathered my things and we got ready to head to Nijmegen. Skoosh happily zoomed through the traffic and we made it safely in a good time.

When mum was ready, we headed to their car and drove to Kleve. The Penny didn't have all we needed, so we'd visit the Penny in Kranenburg on the way back. We filled up the car with benzine and groceries. Aldi and Edeka were next. Then on the way back, we went to Penny again and to the Futterhaus for snacks for Arwen and a new leash for Bas. A stop at the Appie and then we got back at my parents place. I unpacked the groceries, left the fridge things ready for mum. When she was ready, she had to place a phone call. After that, we took the dogs to the woods. The weather was a whole lot better than it had been the last time we went there. 😊 Arwen and Bas did their things and had fun playing some. Then I helped mum with something before we headed back to Cuijk.

I got most of the groceries from the car (will do the cans on Friday, is weather allows), and the made food for Arwen and myself. I rode the hometrainer while I caught up with Mastodon. When it was time to get ready for bed, I prepared everything for the next day. Meds, teeth, walkies... When I got to bed, it didn't take too long before I fell asleep.

I woke once and then when my alarm went off. I went to the scales and wow! They were very kind! 💜 Happy about that, I got ready to start my Friyay! Almost weekend 😉!

I know I've been filling your time lines with loads of my babbling, and some silly (edited) pictures...

As you may know, I love to be active during the night. It's just so calm then, such a different vibe... 😊

Unfortunately, that means I miss many of your toots as they get shared when I is snoozin' :blobcat_sleeping:
I tried to make a Friendos list to quickly find some friend's updates! And I also try to scroll through my time-line to catch up with all of you.

But sometimes, my brain is not "in it" and I struggle to concentrate. And some of you are very active with politics, and while I don't mind at all, it sometimes can flood the time-line a bit for me. 😊 Making it harder to find the toots with other topics.

I will try to keep up as much as my brain and time will allow! But, knowing my silly speeding thoughts, I'll probably be Tooting a lot myself as well... :ablobcatangel:

We're out for the splash 💦 walkies again. Arwen gets more sniffs in and an occasional water splashing may happen... 🐾

My mind is still quite busy. It is like it's wilder than usual, even though they did slightly up my #ADHD meds last week... Maybe I need to get adjusted to the new dosage?

While my mind is going fast, I do find that I can take some more moments to relax. As the move is coming closer, and more things are being crossed off the list, I can sometimes feel a wee bit at ease...

Until the anxiety kicks in again with all the worries that it's been stalking me with. As is moving to a new town wasn't hectic enough, let's throw in a dosage of #AuDHD to make it even more interesting/challenging.

But I've made it through all that life has thrown at me up till now... I admit, I didn't handle it all too well at times, but hey, I made it and I didn't give up!

So, let's do this! 💪🏼 Day by day, until we made it to August... On July 31st I have to hand in the keys of the apartment and I'll close the door one last time... From that moment, it's hopefully time for me to find a new routine, take things a little easier and continue making my new house a home. (in case you missed it, 😉 I'm getting the keys July 1st at 12:30).

As my brain is all over the place again... I started wondering about emojis. I know, right?!

I've always loved using them. And I stil do!

I thought about the reason and... Maybe I "found" one?

I've always struggled with words and emotions. Saying the right things. Understanding the emotions in written texts. But with the use of the right emojis, I feel like the context is more clear to me, I find it easier to express myself with certain kind of little images. The emojis.

When I make a silly joke, I can add 😂 or 🤭.
When I'm glad about something, I often use ☺️.
When I'm sad, there's 😔, 😢 and 😭.
Some emojis express other feelings, so I often add those too.

I feel like I use the emojis to "make sure" the reader can understand my emotions of my written words better.
If that makes sense 🤔...

And with the beige instance having many cool extra emojis, it's just a little happy place. 😊

I know emojis can be annoying or be seen as childish. But hey, I like them, they help me express myself better.

So yeah, I just wanted to share that... 😉

It's just 11 more days till I get the keys! Two more sleeps and we're in the single digits!!
23 sleeps and then it's time to move all our stuffs...
It feels like just a short while ago that I shared I had been offered a small new house... To think that this happened in December! It really doesn't feel like that much time had passed!

So yeah... I'm still struggling with my emotions. I feel excited, but also scared and anxious. I feel motivated to get the job done and to do it right! 💪🏼 But I fear I may not be up to the task...

It's definitely a roller-coaster of emotions and it gets me all wired up. My #AuDHD brain feels all over the place. And my toots will reflect that... Sorry in advance (again 😉) if I may seem a bit weirder than usual.

When I joined this server, I made an #introduction Toot. As I've recently made some new Friendos here, I wanted to write a new intro Toot!

I'm Cynni Pixy, nicknames obviously, and I'm a 44 year old female. Though I don't mind the she/her pronouns, I also accept the they/them ones.
I have a chocolate brown Labrador, who will turn 11 on July 15th. She's the love of my life and has really been my life saver in desperate times in the past.

I'm #AuDHD / #ADHD & #ActuallyAutistic. I struggle with chronic depression, and an binge eating disorder (so fighting the obesity is a daily thing) and I have some physical issues as well
The biggest ones are #Fibromyalgia #Spoonie (who took the spoons and why do my muscles hurt that badly?), hypermobility (I didn't know it could bend that far 🤔) and I have a (second) new right hip. The one I got at birth wasn't in the best condition.

While my AuDHD presses me to keep active and busy and to do better, my fibro just needs more rest... Finding a balance that works is a daily chore!

I'll be getting the keys to our new small home on July 1st. It's exciting but also anxiety inducing, too many changes all at once! So I'm Tooting loads about that... 😊

I either Toot my fingers off, or I'll just lurk. I struggle with commenting on other people's toots, it's easier to reply to replies to my own toots. If that makes sense.
I'm trying to engage more. I try to boost when I can, but no Alt text means no boost...

#Journal of a slightly OK Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Wednesday, June 19th 2024).

TL;DR usual day, to be honest. Gym, walkies, more walkies, Lidl, some exercises and some relaxing... 😊

When the alarm woke me, I was feeling rather OK, just my neck and shoulder muscles were a bit sore. Maybe I'd slept in a wrong position? Maybe it's "just" the fibro... My sleep score was 93, so not bad at all. The scales weren't too bad either, which made me feel a bit relieved. I had heard it raining all night, so when I had taken my meds and prepared the meat for Arwen, I took the umbrella going out with her. So that was a nice plus, finally no rain... We walked the short round, I fixed Arwen's food and put out the snacks. On my way to the gym!
I chatted with a sweet friend, replied to Masto toots, and enjoyed my protein shake. Then I got to the treadmill for half an hour. Followed by the seated bike for half an hour as well. My neck was giving me some slight headache, which was annoying. Fortunately my pain meds kicked in after a bit and it gave me some relief. Then the massage chair before I switched my shoes and headed back home.
A quick wash, some food and all, and then we headed out for the SniffBook walks. Just in case, I wore the raincoat and brought the umbrella. I'd rather not need them but the forecast wasn't all that sure if it would remain dry during walkies... We were in luck, I didn't need them! I edited some AI, wrote for my blog a lot, and saw Arwen enjoying herself in the high grasses (which meant more fur checks for the nasty seeds). We had a lovely walk and when we got back, Arwen snoozed on the couch and I got to my PC. I worked on my blog a bit. I try to keep the journal one updated so it's a little work every day, instead of a whole lot on Tuesday morning... 😊 The journal blogs are the biggest ones and they require the most work. I got the text from my Masto journal toots, like this one, and I add music every day and some pictures of that day. So it's quite a bit of work, but I enjoy doing it. 😊
When I was done with the PC, Arwen "told" me that she was ready for the splash 💦 walkies. So we got ready for those. Again, I brought my umbrella and, fortunately, again I didn't need it. We had nice walkies and Arwen enjoyed some splashing and more sniffs!
After we got back, I made a little bit of food. Then I relaxed some till it was time to walk with our friend and their dog. Even though Arwen seemed a bit tired, she was still very excited! Which always makes me feel happier... We had nice walkies, again, and when we got back, I got by bag to head to Lidl. I got some protein shakes and headed back home again.
I had something to eat and then I rode the hometrainer whole watching some Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (L&O:SVU). They started at season 6, for some strange reason, so I just got in from there... I have several seasons on DVD and I always enjoyed the show. So this was a good one to watch while also occasionally checking Masto 😉.
I made Arwen some food, then we had a short walkies. After that, er went to the couch to relax a bit together. It was very nice, even my brain allowed me some quiet time. 😊 Then... It was time to prepare everything for the next day. I our everything in the right spots. I took my meds and brushed my teeth. One last walkies with Arwen before I headed to my bed. I was rather tired so it didn't take too long to fall asleep.
I woke twice for the loo, the second time was about 25 minutes before the alarm. So I got up and started my routine. The sleep score was 93 again, the weather was 13°C and dry, and the scales were a wee bit nicer again. Loads of yays!
Let's make this a decent enough Thursday and before we know it, it's Friyay already 😉.

It's me, again 😉 Hihi...

I was just wondering about something silly (so what else is new? Right?).

When people start following me, I always check out their profile. I don't always follow back, I'll be honest in that. No bio, only Tooting in a language I don't understand, or only Tooting things that I have no interest in... I won't follow back.
I've always been honest about that.
Limited spoons means, for me, that I can't translate all toots. Or that I can't scroll though a while time line, looking for a Toot that does interest me...
If that makes sense 🤔

But it's easier for me to follow someone back (if they "meet my requirements" 😉) than to start following someone first...

I know, I told you that it was silly!

If I see someone Tooting things I like a lot, it's easier to like the toots than to follow the person... It feels like a bigger step to click the "follow" button than to star the Toot.
