This "Allergy Guide" trend needs to DIE. Or it's going to make me die. Increasingly restaurants will NOT show an ingredients list, but instead a simplified chart made for babies that only list the "big five" allergens.

As someone with an anaphylactic reaction to sunflower oil and flax which are NOT big five this is useless to me. So I just can't know if your food will kill me or not. So I don't buy it.

The number of places where I can eat keeps shrinking.

(sesame isn't even on their guide)

@futurebird Ugh,, I'm sorry I feel your pain. I have a anaphylactic allergy to stevia and they're putting it in everything these days. I'm also allergic to shellfish but thats a more common one. Food is so exhausting when you have life threatening allergies.

"The law is both powerful and fragile. No matter how much money you think you may have, no one is above the law."

Letitia James

Just caught up with the "how much money you think you may have" part of this quote.

Ouch. Delayed burn!

Bullying isn't a "normal part of growing up" if a child is being bullied physically that is a failure of the school to protect them and a failure to create a safe learning environment.

Psychological bullying is equally as serious but can be harder to identify. But if a child/teen comes home from school upset repeatedly. If they say they don't want to go to school. If they alter their behavior to avoid persecution this is also a failure.

This feels obvious and basic but I'm saying it anyway.

@futurebird People who say shit like "bullying is a normal part of childhood" were probably once themselves terrible bullies and are trying to normalize their own behavior. It's disgusting.

I’m really getting in to these comically small thermoses! I didn’t expect them to really keep my little sip of tea hot — but it works surprisingly well. I love to have a hot drink but I can never drink it all and normal vacuum sealed bottles are so awkward and bulky in my bag… Anyone else enjoying this new trend?

This is the perfect way to make a rainy cold bus stop into a pleasant experience. Today’s tea is “liu an” since I’m a little hoarse from teaching.

@futurebird Oh thats so neat. I have been looking for a bottle this size. 20 oz is about the maximum size my hands can hold but I'd like something smaller. Tea at the bus stop sounds cozy, for sure an improvement with the rain.
