I need recommendations on where to go to get my mom some help. She is in what I would call rapid memory decline, but the neurologist says she does not have Alzheimer’s or dementia. She does not sleep due to some undiagnosed issue for many years, but has managed it a bit with some uncommon sleeping meds (not anything I’ve ever heard of).

The doctors are basically like 🤷and meanwhile things continue to get worse. Do y’all have any recommendations on even the type of doctor that she should go see?

@jerry this could of course be way off, but mentioning it since the neurologist doesn’t think it’s dementia or Alzheimer’s. Have her thyroid numbers been checked via blood work recently? I learned that in older folks, thyroid dysfunction can be mistaken for dementia/cognitive decline in some people because of how the symptoms can manifest (they vary). Thyroid issues can also cause a lot of sleep problems.

I think my dog has a UTI or something similar. She’s frantic. Earliest I can get her to the vet is tomorrow at 8am. Any miracle home remedies?

@jerry Have you seen her able to urinate recently or does she seem unable to? If she has, was it steady stream or was it intermittent?
