Just finished @pluralistic 's Homeland (DRM free from Humble Bundle) and the afterword by Aaron Schwartz hit me right in the feels.

What must he have been feeling at the time he said..."I know it’s easy to feel like you’re powerless, like there’s nothing you can do to slow down or stop “the system.” Like all the calls are made by shadowy and powerful forces far outside your control. I feel that way, too, sometimes. But it just isn’t true."

Etiquette proposal: if you invite someone from another to a teleconference, the onus is on you to present all times in their local timezone, rather than your own - that is, the person asking should bear the labor of timezone conversions, not the person being asked.

@pluralistic My experience as a UX researcher got me doing this pretty quickly. Swapping in local timezone reduces a barrier to getting all meeting participants to show up at the same time. It's not only a thoughtful action, it's an effective one too!
