It is though: self driving into objects

I posted this comment on a similar topic a while ago, for context it was replying to someone who wanted to pick 2 LeGuin novels to read to essentially get a survey of her work. I've liked her standalone novels as well, but I see them get less discussion generally. I think her work that I see referenced most often is the short story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas.

LeGuin is one of my favorite authors. I've read a lot, but not all of LeGuin's novels. She has 2 main multibook series that I've read, the Earthsea books and the Hainish cycle.

Earthsea is sort of YA fantasy, but grows up throughout the series. The first 3 are a self contained trilogy, and my favorite is Tombs of Atuan which is book 2, I think would be okay as a standalone title. My other favorite is Tales from Earthsea which is book 5, and is a collection of short stories set in the setting. You'd be missing a little context only reading Tales, but this could also be a standalone.

The Hainish cycle is scifi, and are only loosely connected by the setting and don't have a too firmly established chronology, or any shared main characters. My favorite from the Hainish Cycle is The Left Hand of Darkness and my 2nd favorite is The Dispossessed.

Not all chokes are removeable. If you do have a modular choke you'll damage your gun faster firing without a choke tube in place faster than by firing slugs through a full choke. They make thin wall choke tubes if you want to have an open choke with a modular choke system. From my admittedly 2nd hand knowledge rifled slugs through full choke is safe, but generally inaccurate.

Lever action is not semi automatic though. Needs both characteristics.

I think this is it. It looks like those wheels are attached to split trails with spade ends, that are kind of draped onto the hood of the jeep.

‘Like a war zone’: Emory University grapples with fallout from police response to protest | US universities ( www.theguardian.com )

The university’s response was likely the quickest show of police force in response to a divestment protest among the dozens nationwide that have occurred in recent weeks. It was also probably the only one where pepper balls, stun guns and rubber bullets were used against students, faculty and community members – at one of...

Perception of the vietnam war protests at the time were also very split, and I would be very unsurprised to find that the people most against the student protests now are, or are the children of people who were very against the social movements of the 60s. The 60s were also an incredibly divided time in the US politically. Nixon won the whitehouse in 1968, and the civil rights movement had met extremely bitter opposition.

I think Ken Buck, being a political insider, also probably knew that the media would run with that quote; and that the paranoia it would inspire would fuck with the republicans in the house who made him want to leave in the first place.

If the house republican leadership also starts exerting pressure to stay on those it perceives as weak links; it may drive some of them out, partially as a result of this statement.

Edit: spelling

Is there a reason the bananas are only cut to the bottom of the peel, and everything else is cut to the midplane?

Edit: the avocado is also only cut on the peel

Glemek ,

That seems cut to the midplane to me, the stems and back of the buds on the opposite side are the lighter color

It might be going stale, my cat is always super excited for the first few meals out of a new bag.

I use medium heat, and you have to keep it moving pretty constantly or it burns, often with some herbs or spices too. It's really good.

One of my first (concurrent) playthrus I was under the impression that there might be some limit to the long rests because of the tadpole, so I basically did all of act 1 on like 1 maybe 2 long rests. It was really fun to have to play so cautiously and really eke out every advantage I could, but then was really disappointed when I realized almost all the companion stuff happens one at a time during long rests, and power long rested like 20 times in a row.

I finished Leviathan Wakes a little bit ago and am considering whether to jump right into Caliban's War or to read something else in between. Probably would do something non-fiction if I did.

I enjoyed it a lot! Its very popcorn-y and I breezed through it really fast. The hard scifi setting is really cool and feels very fleshed out and verisimilitudinous, the characters I was pretty lukewarm on tho, and it did feel pretty predictable but I'm hoping that will all get better in the sequels and it is just sortof "first bookisms" on that front.

I knew going in that the writers are kind connected to George RR Martin, and I felt like there were some cross setting parallel ideas between it and ASoIaF. Mid-read I heard that it had evolved out of a play by post forum rpg, which I thought was really cool in concept, but I also started to see the strings a little bit, y'know?

I really enjoyed Perdido Street Station when I read it years ago, the weird fantasy of it feels so like extravagant and full in scope while also being grounded.

What drew you to The Three Musketeers? Have you read any other Dumas?
