What £4 per month extra in income tax gets you in Scotland. (Thanks Ewan)

Ewan Anderson Ritchie 4h They keep saying on the news that people earning over 28,000 pay more tax in Scotland than in England. So I did a quick comparison on money saving expert income tax calculator. If you earn £33,500 in England you would get £2,303 in take home pay per month. If you earn the same in Scotland you would get £2,299 in take home pay. A grand difference of £4 per month. For that £4 you get 4 years of free university or college tuition, free prescriptions, free personal care, a bus pass if you are over 65 or under 22. You get better performing A&E's than England and more teachers per pupil, better paid teachers, doctors and nurses. You get a nationalised rail company with no peak fares. You get the Scottish Child Payment of £25 per week per child. You get a baby box. You get 1140 hours of free early learning an childcare once your child is 3 years old (due to be expanded to 2 year olds soon). You also get the lowest council tax in the UK which would cost you on average £700 more per year per household if you were in England. That is a well spent £4 per month in my book.
