Welcome.

Thank you for taking your time to visit my galleries. I'm a photographer that makes his home in Northern California. I love getting out shooting the outstanding scenery that this area has to offer. I may be in Yosemite one weekend and the Napa wine country the next. I try not to set limits on where, when or what I shoot.
I've been shooting photography now for roughly six years and am learning something new every time I go out.

Golden Leaf

I came across this leaf as I was hiking below Yosemite Falls during in the fall.

Half Dome Infrared

This is an image of Half Dome located in Yosemite National Park. This giant rock formation rises above Yosemite Valley and the Merced River.
Captured towards the end of winter there is some snow on top of the dome.
Below the dome is the Merced River flowing slowly giving the trees on both sides of the river a soft reflection. The ground is covered in snow. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/half-dome-infrared-bill-gallagher.html

Half Dome Infrared This is an image of Half Dome in Yosemite Valley. The sky is clear without a whisper of wind. A winter storm blew through the valley the day before but now the winds are almost completely still. The Merced River starts in the foreground of the image and moves towards the back, leading you eye into the frame. Both sides of the river are lined with mostly pine trees with a few hardwoods mixed in. The branches of the trees are covered in snow as is the ground on both sides of the river.

    Yosemite Valley Infrared

    Yosemite Valley has majestic granite cliffs that rise dramatically on both sides of the forested Yosemite Valley. Bridalveil Falls flows from the high country above the valley. The Three Brothers serve as a backdrop for the waterfall. In the distance Half Dome rises above the valley.
    On the left side of the image is El Capitan rising over the valley.

    Yosemite Valley Infrared This is an image of Yosemite using an infrared filter. This was captured from the Tunnel View parking lot. In the foreground is the floor of Yosemite Valley carpeted with evergreen trees wherever the ground is flat enough to support them. There are a number of famous landmarks in this image. On the near right side of the image is Bridalveil Falls dropping roughly 600 feet to the valley below. Above Bridalveil Falls is the Three Brothers granite formation with three similar peaks stacked up, one against the other. Further back is the iconic Half Dome. This image was captured near the end of the winter so there is a good amount of snow on top of the dome. On the left side of Half Dome is Clouds Rest filling out the background at the center of the image. El Capitan, at 3,000 feet dominates the left side of the image.

    Bridalveil And The Three Brothers

    This image of Bridalveil Falls and the Three Brothers was captured from across Yosemite Valley at a turnoff on Big Oak Flat Road.
    Yosemite Valley is covered in tall Douglas Fir that stretch as far as they can until blocked by the towering cliffs.

    Bridalveil And The Three Brothers This image was captured from a pullout on Big Flat Roads in Yosemite National Park. Looking across the tall Douglass Fit that line the valley you can see Bridalveil Falls and the Three Brothers. Bridalveil Falls drops roughly 600 feet from Bridalveil Creek to Yosemite Valley. Above Bridalveil Falls are three mountain peaks lined up in a row known as the Three Brothers. Captured near the end of winter the peaks still have some snow on them from a clearing storm. The sky is mostly cloudy with a patch of blue.

    Bristle Cone Pine Abstract

    This is a close-up image of a Bristle Cone Pine Tree captured near the tree line on Wheeler Peak at Great Basin National Park in Nevada.
    I chose to shoot this close-up so as to highlight the amazing swirls, bends, twist, and other growth patterns that these trees produce over their thousands year lifetimes.

    Bristle Cone Pines Abstract. This is a closeup of the exterior bark of a Bristle Cone Pine that I found at Great Basin National Park in Nevada. There is no foreground or background in this image. The subject is in your face the full image. The bark twist, twirls, buckles and splits in any direction seemingly possible. The bark is earth tones but quite fantastic with stripes of black, brown, white, and grey.

    Snow Kissed Valley

    This shot was taken as a winter storm was clearing Yosemite Valley. The morning was cold and nasty but as the day moved on the sun started to break through.

    Snow Kissed Valley This is an image of Yosemite Valley captured from the Tunnel View overlook. The valley and surrounding areas are blanketed in snow as a storm is clearing. Broken clouds can be seen at the eastern end of the park. On the left side of the image is El Capitan, a 3,000 foot monolith that seems to guard the valley. On the right side of the image is Bridalveil Falls. Above the falls are the snow covered Three Brothers. Further back in the image is Half Dome.

    Springtime in the Orchard

    Springtime in the Orchard is an image that I captured a few years ago as I was driving around after a clearing in a late spring storm rolled through the area.

    Springtime In The Orchard I captured this image one spring afternoon during a break in weather with a clearing storm. This is an image of an orchard in Solano County in Northern California. In the foreground are some lush, green, tall grasses. These grasses are growing between rows of Almond Trees. The Almond Trees are mature fruit bearing trees. The branches are full of beautiful, little, white blossoms. In the background are some bushes and trees growing on a hillside that borders the orchard. The print is finished off with a white vignette.
