In 1953, during a particularly corrupt period in Fairbanks police history, Chief Ray Skelton killed 2 inmates by starvation/neglect & fired half the force for not obeying him. During the accompanying feud with the city council, Skelton ran an ad in Daily News-Miner inviting "THIEVES, THUGS, BURGLARS AND MURDERERS" to "ransack the town."

Aug 5, 1912 baseball game in Ketchikan versus Juneau, played on the tide flats. At high tide, home plate was covered by as much as 14 feet of water. Via Tongass Historical Museum and colorized at Palette.fm.

The resplendent 1952 Sitka Columbia Lumber company basketball team. I have no comment at this time on the short shorts, the quality of their lumber, or that one mustache.
