GW really wanted to nerf my Imperial Guard Artillery list. Technically Basilisks went down in points this update, but only by half of what they raised it last time.
There are two abilities I used to use, Scout Sentinel or Expert Bombardiers, that would let me hit on a 3+. But now they always miss on a 1-3, so no point wasting points or CP for those.
I understand wanting to keep the game dynamic, but I still needed to put squishy guard on objectives.
Results of the dip’n’strip test using Wilco’s own paint stripper.
Metal pretty good. Plastic looks like the first layer was chewing gum! More likely the reaction between paint & stripper. Going to have to pick it off by hand.
Coated. Leave for an hour. Agitated with brush. Left a further 30 mins. Wash. Recoat. Leave for 30 mins. Wash & scrub with toothbrush.
Bit of a dip’n’strip test using Wilco’s own paint stripper. 2 x metal, 1 x plastic (Blue boy!). All purchased from eBay. So, the paint used is unknown but certainly looks like standard acrylic.
Played the first two crusade games. We did back to back combat patrols.
I fought Dark Angels, and wiped him the first mission. I got first turn and he infiltrated with an apothecary and some honor guard? Guy with banner and stuff.
My sky weavers and star weaver took them out. While my bikes have haywire for anti-vehicle, they still devastating wounds on 6s against infantry and 3 damage is brutal.
His stern guard vets were nasty, but my star weavers eventually took him out.
I accomplished a lot of agendas (“cleansed” a lot of objectives and killed all his characters twice), so while it was space marine victory for campaign purposes, four of my units became blooded.
I made the bikes “Tyrannic War Veterans” for even more re-rolls to hit vehicles.
Getting ready for my local store’s 40K crusade campaign. My harlequins are recovering artifacts and warding webway gates before imperial planets are overrun by tyranids.
I do love that it’s hard to make two harlequin models look alike, even with only six leg poses.
Now I have 21 days to paint ten models for our next tournament. I have no expectations of winning, but it gives me a day of playing and motivation to paint.
Can build two more troopers, and have bodies for another two but I really don’t need more guys with shuriken pistols, so they will have to wait until I can trade for better pistols.
New 40K points update dropped today. My imperial guard list is more expensive, Basilisks and Bulgryn got more expensive.
My harlequin list is unchanged, although I really think the Deathjester needs a point drop. Yes, he’s a lone operative that can inflict devastating wounds. But it’s only two damage and he only gets 3 shots. Ah well.
At least my list for the Tacoma narrative is unchanged.
