To label Israel a "Nazi state" is not only counterproductive but also factually inaccurate, intellectually lazy, and possibly anti-Semitic. Please do better.
The Israeli state is already a number of things: fascist, genocidal, apartheid, and settler colonial. It's not necessary to make stuff up to indict its actions.
"The report, which cites three anonymous officials in the Biden administration, states that “no reprimand plans are in the works, meaning Israeli forces could enter the city and harm civilians without facing American consequences”."
The U.S. can provide diplomatic cover and billions of dollars to facilitate genocide, yet seems flummoxed as to how to get Israel to allow some flour into Gaza.
Stories of atrocity on October 7 have been used to justify the ongoing assault on Gaza. But several of these high-profile claims have been found to be based on unreliable witnesses or even fabricated entirely. We deserve to know the truth.
"An Israeli security official reported Tuesday that a group of some 15 Jewish settlers arrived from the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar to the village of Asira al-Qibliya, setting a car on fire and attempting to set a building ablaze.
"The source added that settlers also threw rocks at Palestinians near the village of Madama, adjacent to the Yitzhar settlement, and that another group of settlers later set vehicles on fire in the West Bank town of Hawara on Monday.
"During the attack, the settlers attempted to set fire to a house in which six children and a father, mother, and grandmother were located, the council said. While the house was not set ablaze, it sustained severe damage, and the windows of four other houses and one car were broken.
"The army arrived relatively quickly to Asira al-Qibliya and opened fire at residents who were attempting to defend their homes."
Dutch court orders government to stop providing F-35 parts to Israel
An appeals court ordered the Dutch government to cease exports of F-35 components to Israel, saying “there is a clear risk that the F-35 parts to be exported will be used in committing serious violations of international humanitarian law.”
The attack on UNRWA by Israel and its Western allies is an assault on the credibility of international legal and humanitarian bodies. Cutting UNRWA’s funding deepens the Biden administration’s complicity in the Gaza genocide.
#UN / Analysis: "we need to really put the logo of the United Nations on the banner of the anti-apartheid movement"
Craig Mokhiber resigned from the UN over its failure on #Palestine, advocating upholding human rights principles instead of political expediency.
Mokhiber says the UN has abandoned its founding principles of human rights, international law, and anti-colonialism in favor of deferring to powerful states like the #US, #UK, and #Israel when it comes to Palestine.
He also argues the UN is afraid to call out Israeli #apartheid, #genocide, and systematic rights violations in Palestine. It still talks vaguely about a two-state solution, despite it being unviable.
[...] We need to work for an end to the siege of #Gaza that's been going on for so many years, which is a form of collective punishment that denies Palestinians the most basic human rights codified in the in universal declaration.
[...] By the way, strictly on the basis of their ethnicity, this is a race-based persecution in all of historic Palestine and in Israel, and we need to we need to say so.
[...] We need to not ratify ethnic cleansing as is a part of the plan in Gaza right now, and insist on anyone who was forced to leave having the right to return wherever they want to in the country.
[...] we need to really put the logo of the United Nations on the banner of the anti-apartheid movement that is already gaining force all around the world, as we did for South Africa. We need to do the same thing in all of historic Palestine. We have to work for accountability, I said.
Palestinians in Rafah are dreading Israel’s impending invasion, but there is nothing we can do to ensure our safety. If the army surrounds us, we have nowhere left to go. We will be forced endure the fire and look death in the face.
‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 130: U.S. Senate votes to send additional $14 billion to Israel as catastrophic ground invasion of Rafah appears imminent
As Palestinians prepare for a catastrophic ground invasion of Rafah, the U.S. Senate votes to send an additional $14 billion to Israel. Amnesty International warns Palestinians in southern Gaza are “facing the real and imminent risk of genocide.”
