He arrived at Auschwitz on 1 December 1942 and was registered in the camp after the selection. He perished in Auschwitz in September 1943.

    28 April 1943 | A transport of 3,070 Jews deported from a ghetto in Thessaloniki in German-occupied Greece arrived at Auschwitz.

    361 women & 180 men were registered in the camp. SS doctors sent the remaining 2,529 people to be murdered in gas chambers.

    27 April 1937 | Czech Jewish girl, Ruth Fischerová, was born in Prague.

    She was deported from Theresienstadt ghetto to Auschwitz on 18 May 1944. She was placed in the family camp BIIb at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. She did not survive.

    In Theresienstadt Ghetto from 20 November 1942.
    On 15 December 1943, she was deported to with her elder brother Pavel. They both did not survive.

    24 April 1893 | A German Jew, Alfred Dresel, was born in Fraustadt (Wschowa). A businessman.

    He tried to leave Europe on MS St. Louis. After the forced return to Europe, he stayed in France. Deported, via Gurs & Drancy, to Auschwitz. Murdered in a gas chamber on 28 August 1942.

    In Theresienstadt Ghetto from 22 February 1942.

    Liberated in Ebensee.
    He supervised the creation of the 'Arbeit macht frei' sign, placed over the main camp gate.

    She arrived in Auschwitz on her 12th birthday in the 71st transport of Jews deported from Drancy. After selection, she was murdered in the gas chamber.
