#24cse day 10 - The #motorcycle is strapped down and the ferry is leaving port in half an hour. Trip done.
Waiting for boarding I noticed a nasty sharp bit of gravel completely embedded in my tyre. Wriggled it out with the tip of my knife. Then spotted a plant needle sticking out in another spot. Will have to do a thorough once over when I get home.
Came back to my bike to find its white twin parked next to it! The white one is my friend’s bike. We bought it the same day, two years ago 🥰 #motorcycle#twins
Hey all! 👋🏼 It’s #introdction time! My name is Hannah and I want to share a little about myself:
I’m a #wife (my hottie husband is @alex ) and a #mom of 3 awesome boys 🐻🐻🐻
I’m a co owner of Markley Bros. Entertainment and a cast member on our #dnd show Ember Fables! I #homeschool my kids and drink enough #coffee to fuel a small army ☕️
I'm off to Brisbane to see the mighty Cirith Ungol, live. I'll be riding the Honda CRF300 Rally down so I can explore a bit while I'm there. Should be awesome!
I have a theory about why every social media post about either cyclist or biker safety immediately gets swamped by really angry car drivers who want to kill us, and it comes down to ignorance.
Most cyclists and bikers are also car drivers, so we can see both points of view.
Most car drivers are only car drivers, which makes it harder to understand the different points of view. Learning to drive a car should include some time on 2 wheels. #BikeTooter#motorcycle#CarBrain#roadsafety
After sitting on basically every Harley-Davidson cruiser, plus other brands, I've realised I don't find cruisers comfortable. I thought a few Harley models were ok, like the Heritage Classic - then I sat on the Pan America, and the difference in comfort was night and day. Same for the V-Strom 800 and Norden 901.
Sitting upright feels far more natural than stretching my arms and legs out in a < shape. I see why big adventure bikes are becoming popular road tourers.
I wonder if Harleys are just designed for much taller people. On most models, the handlebars seem really far forward, and the seat far back. The ergonomics lean me forward in a position that feels weirdly aggressive.
Even the Harleys with more "relaxed" fits still give me a forward lean to reach the bars. I'm not 6 ft, but I'm not what I would consider short, either.
By contrast, the big adventure bikes have me sitting perfectly upright, with the bars in easy reach.
